Hello soccer families! The Celtics Soccer Club has some exciting updates regarding our summer recreational program and our competitive teams.
We expect to begin our recreational programs on Monday evening, June 21st, at both Columbus field and Central field. These programs will keep their original schedule and end date, concluding the final week of July, running for a total of six (6) weeks.
For those families planning to continue their involvement in soccer this summer we ask that you ensure you have paid the annual registration fee before the 18th of June. We will offer a refund of $20 for all members participating in U5, U7, U9, U11 and U13 to accommodate the shorter season. The specific method of this refund is yet to be determined, but we will share the details shortly. The club expects to be able to identify the makeup of teams/training groups and the specific location of each program by June 11th.
The Club recognizes the shorten program offering may now not fit with some families summer sport plans. For those families that now do not want to participate in the six week program we will offer a full refund, less a five ($5) administrative fee. The final day to request an ‘opt out’ of summer recreation program is June 7th. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org , subject line Opt Out, and in the body of the email please identify the names and ages of the participants. If your family are still going to participate in our program, you do not need to send an email.
For those participants interested in playing on one of Club’s competitive teams, training could start as early as next Monday, June 7th. In order to be eligible for any training opportunities as part of our competitive program all players must be registered through the HUB system and have paid their recreational fee (U11/U13 - $110 and U15/U18 - $40) by Friday, June 4th.
Soccer Nova Scotia is hopeful that NSSL games and regional competition could begin as early as July 5th. Based on the design of the competitive seasons the Club will be charging competitive team fees in late June.
The Club will continue to offer updates over the coming weeks related to the specific makeup of teams, times and locations of recreational programs, specific information related to COVID screening, and detailed expectations regarding the ‘traffic flow’ as players and coaches enter and leave our fields.
Lastly, we are making another call for volunteer coaches to support our on-field delivery or individuals willing to volunteer to support COVID screening. If you can make a six week commitment to volunteer with Celtics Soccer please send an email to CelticsSoccer@mysporthub.ca.
